The identity of the Gold Ranger, initially known as the Mystery Ranger, has varied across Power Rangers series.
In Power Rangers Zeo, the Gold Ranger was first Trey of Triforia, a being split into three separate personalities. Due to instability, Trey transferred the Gold Ranger powers to Jason Lee Scott, the original Red Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Jason temporarily wielded the powers before a more permanent solution was found.
Later, in Power Rangers Super Megaforce, the Gold Ranger was revealed to be Orion, an alien from the planet Andresia. He gained his powers after finding the Gold Ranger Key on his destroyed homeworld.
In Power Rangers Dino Fury, the Gold Ranger is Aiyon, an alien who was one of the original Dino Fury Rangers 65 million years prior to the main storyline.
